Nubby Dishcloth Finish

I did another quick dishcloth.  This one is the Nubby Dish Cloth and what looks like bobbles are actually just triple crochets followed by a single.  Fast to make and easy to remember.  Also looks like it will be a great scrubber.

    1. No special yarn, it was either Peaches and Cream or Sugar and Cream cotton. It's what I usually use to make my dish cloths and it is a good scrubber!

  2. thanks Lisa, I will try to make it and let you know how I got on if you like? It will probably come out not as neat as yours but the main thing is that it can scrub! I really hate to throw away so much plastic, but I also hate to keep old germy scrubbers so a cotton washable one sounds perfect!

  3. I'd love to see how it comes out. I was looking at mine last night and thinking I need to make some more.

  4. This is how it's going, I'm about halfway there I think:

It's not as nubby as yours, I think I'm doing something wrong, but I'm still happy with it and will try a few things out. I have the feeling that I'm not putting 3 stitches in the triple crochet (I am a complete beginner at this!)

I linked to you on my blog too, I hope that is ok? If not let me know and I will remove it. Best wishes and thank you for the pattern!

    1. Thanks for the update. One question I have for you is where do you live? Are you reading the pattern in US terms or UK terms, that could be the problem with the treble crochet. In the UK the treble is actually a double US. Also, what is the weight of the yarn you're using? The colors are very pretty. Let me know how it turns out when you're finished.

  5. hey Lisa, I'm living in Germany... but I guess I would read it the UK way, but as you can see from the result: http://gotthisfar.wordpress.com/2012/06/11/completed-nubbie-scrubbie/
I have NO idea what I'm doing! LOL! It was fun to do though and I have plenty of yarn to try again ;-) I haven't used it to scrub the dishes with yet because I think it's too pretty! (even if it's no way as pretty as yours!)

  6. You're right it is pretty. Next time use the US terms and it should work out fine. And trust me, once you use the hand made cotton dish cloths you won't go back to the other.

  7. I used it the other day, it was really gentle but also really good at cleaning! Hygiene with food preparation is so important, so I bin my kitchen scrubbers at least once a week, which annoys me because I hate to use so much plastic - so this is a great environmentally friendly alternative becuase i can just wash them :-) So thank you again :-)
